Linda Kouvaras is a pianist, composer and musicologist and is a lecturer at Melbourne University's Faculty of Music. After time spent playing keyboards and electric violin in rock bands in the late 1970s, Linda returned to composition in the mid-1990s, writing Two St Kilda Sketches for the Composing Women's Festival of 1994 (Melbourne).

Linda has enjoyed three artist-in-residencies at Bundanon, the Arthur and Yvonne Boyd Estate bequeathed to the nation, in NSW, from 1999-2001. Her most recent CD is Kouvaras: PianoWorks, Move 3233, which was CD of the week on ABC Classic FM in Nov 2000.

Her song Distant Lullaby (1999) appears on Linda Thompson and Deviani Sega's CD of Australian Lullabies, Repose, on the Move label, The Sky Is Melting (Bundanon) (2000) will be recorded by Marianne Rothschilds and Larissa Cox on their forthcoming CD of Australian violin and piano works, and Secrets of the Amphitheatre (from the Bundanon Suite for Piano (1999)) appears on Ian Holtham's forthcoming CD of Australian piano works (Move label).
