Carolyn Morris

Carolyn Morris is a Melbourne-based Australian composer, oboist and pianist. She began piano at seven and oboe at twelve on entering the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School, later graduating from the VCA, where her teachers included Jeffrey Crellin and Neil Stafford. She started composing as a child and has since written for piano, oboe, clarinet, flute, cello, brass, voice, small ensemble and chamber orchestra, with much of her output aimed at students from beginner to advanced level. The Australian Music Examinations Board commissioned her oboe sight-reading book, and her works feature in AMEB syllabuses. An associate artist of the Australian Music Centre, she is published by Reed Music and Wirripang. Morris has played with the Australian Youth Orchestra and teaches piano and oboe privately, having held posts at several leading schools.
