Katy Addis is a Melbourne-based professional trumpeter and music educator. With fellow trumpeter Bernie Hickey she co-founded Brass Bedlam, a duo that tours interactive concerts and workshops to primary and secondary students across Australia. The pair have delivered hundreds of brass-introduction concerts for Musica Viva throughout Australia and Singapore, and performed internationally — including festival appearances in Japan and Hong Kong with the Itchy Feet Pep Band. As a player she has appeared with ensembles including the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, the Australian Chamber Orchestra, the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra and Musica Viva’s Shrewd Brass. Alongside performing she teaches brass and classroom music at Melbourne schools. Her concert-band writing is published by Reed Music.
