Dindy Vaughan

Dindy Vaughan is an Australian composer, writer, educator and environmentalist based in Melbourne. A graduate of the University of Sydney (BA Hons) and Flinders University (MA), she has held tertiary lectureships at RMIT and Victoria University and worked as an academic assessor for Deakin University. Her compositions range across vocal, choral, chamber, keyboard and orchestral works, alongside youth music and music for theatre, and have been broadcast on 3MBS FM and the ABC. In 2006 she was commissioned to write a choral symphony celebrating the Great South West Walk, premiered in Portland by the Music Glenelg Festival Singers and the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic Orchestra. Honoured with the University of Sydney Alumni Award for Community Service in 1996, she was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the 2021 Queen’s Birthday Honours for service to the arts.
