Performed by Andy Firth
Composed in a typically 18th century style this delightful duet gives both players a chance to shine as the theme is shared between both players throughout. Throughout the course of this duet the music progresses through simple, plaintive melodies, fast moving cascading passages, copy-cat imitation and canonic styles before recapitulating and concluding with a short but flashy coda section. The piece runs for 4:50 but allows players to have short respites here and there throughout. This is the first of the four such duets that Andy has composed in this setting and style for two clarinets.
